Don’t you just love hypocrites? Those people that say one thing and do another. They tell you not to do something, and then they go and do exactly what they told you not to.

 Well i have a certain hypocrite in mind, so this is my rant about that person. Instead of mentioning their name, I will refer to them as “the hypocrite”.

 The hypocrite is someone i was once very close to. The hypocrite was alwaysabove the influence. The hypocrite always told me to stay above the influence. To the hypocrite, the idea of me drinking was thought of as just an act to fit in. The hypocrite believed i just wanted to drink to be “popular”.

 I would say i was going out with friends and the hypocrite would be suspicious the whole week afterwards. “Did you drink?” “Did you smoke?” “Did you do anything stupid?”,  these were all questions i would get asked following up my night out with my friends. It would have been nice to be trusted by the hypocrite, seeing as how i stayed above the influencefor them.

 I am no longer close to the hypocrite. However, i know all of the hypocrites insecurities. Since we have stopped talking, the hypocrite is no longer pro-above the influence. Everything that the hypocrite accused me of, the hypocrite does now. Drinking to fit in; trying to be the definition ofyolo to be popular.

 I have noticed that when the hypocrite accused me of “wanting to fit in”, the hypocrite got me confused with them self. The hypocrite was the one that hungered for popularity. The hypocriteis the one that is just trying to fit in. The insecurities of the hypocrite affected how the hypocrite saw me. They took their insecurities and tried to put them on me.

 I am not trying to fit in or be popular. Yes, hypocrite, i have some close friends. I do not hunger for more popularity. I strive for love from my friends that really count. I strive for good standings with my acquaintances. I strive to enjoy the life i have with the people that surround me.
